Parish Centre History
Ambleside Parish Centre is the result of many years of planning and fundraising. It was opened in July 2006.
St Mary's Church, Ambleside and the Ambleside Methodist congregation united in the venture. The Methodist Church and adjoining hall were sold and converted into much needed local affordable housing and funds put towards the Centre. The plans for the new building were adapted to make space for the Methodist congregation. This now worships, each Sunday morning, in the Wesley Room which has magnificent views towards the fells.
The Centre is leased to an independent Trust consisting of representatives from both churches, local organisations and voluntary groups.
It has become a much sought-after venue for a wide variety of events.
